Vienna/Hanover, 14 June 2016. At a two-day event in Vienna, Semperit marked its 110th anniversary with an update of its entire truck tyre portfolio as well as a look into the future. Approximately 400 dealers and journalists from 24 European countries accepted their invitations and assembled at Semperit’s Austrian home for the event that bore the slogan "Transporting heritage into the future".

To fill the gap between tradition and future, the successful tyre brand with Austrian roots presented a new design that is the sum of all its expert knowledge gained since its founding in 1906. "The Runner family marks the Semperit brands breakthrough into a new chapter of its illustrious history. The tyres are notable for their state-of-the-art, intelligent technology, as well as representing the basis for positioning Semperit as a strong brand well into the future. For that purpose, we are not only updating the entire product portfolio, but also expanding it, thereby achieving coverage of almost 90 percent of the market, which brings us close to the top brands," explains Constantin Batsch, head of the Truck Tires Replacement EMEA business unit at Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH, which counts Semperit among the brands in its portfolio.

Semperit launched its product campaign for combined regional and long-distance use last summer with the Runner F2 for the steering axle and the Runner D2 tyre for the drive axle, both in size 315/80 R 22.5, The event in Vienna also saw the
T2 385/65 R 22.5 trailer tyre presented for the first time, completing the versatile and high-performance Runner family. Thanks to specially developed compounds,

optimised tread designs and a robust carcass construction, all three tyres offer maximum mileage and excellent durability.

"Our customers can rely on the Runner tyres. They deliver impressive performance even on rain-soaked roads, ensuring the best possible lane-keeping and optimum braking characteristics,” comments Pasko Segrt, brand manager for the Semperit brand at Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH.

Both the Runner F2 steering-axle tyre and the Runner T2 trailer tyre feature the M+S marking. The Runner D2 drive-axle tyre bears not only the M+S symbol but also the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. Furthermore, the carcasses of all tyres in the Semperit Runner family are designed to be suitable for retreading.
