Semperit is kicking off the introduction of a new tyre family for use in combined regional and long-distance transportation, with the launch of its steer axle tyre Runner F2 and the drive axle tyre Runner D2 in size 315/80 R22.5. The Runner F2, optimised for rolling resistance, is perfectly complemented by the high mileage of the Runner D2. Both tyres offer a combination of long service life and good fuel efficiency.

With its new Runner tyre family, Semperit is bringing a product to the market which challenges current industry offerings of quality tyres for use in combined regional and long-distance transportation. The Runner F2 steer axle tyre and the Runner D2 drive axle tyre, both available in size 315/80 R22.5, offer better service life and significant fuel savings, as well as a high level of driving safety even on wet road surfaces. These tyres are suitable for use on trucks and buses.

Semperit Runner F2 – Low rolling resistance and reliable grip on wet roads

The compact tread pattern of the Semperit Runner F2 steer axle tyre features a high proportion of abrasion-resistant material in the areas that typically display slight deformations. This "Void Optimised Pattern" contributes to the long service life and good fuel efficiency of the Runner F2. The outer grooves of the tread run straight, leading to a major improvement in tread durability even in demanding road conditions. The rubber compound used for the tread, optimised for rolling resistance, increases the savings in fuel consumption.

The addition of a higher number of deeper pocket sipes in the tread pattern offer improved water expulsion. As a result the Semperit Runner F2 has even better grip in the wet than its predecessor and achieves the EU wet grip label grade B. The Semperit Runner F2 carries the mud and snow (M+S) label.

Semperit Runner D2 – Optimum service life and high durability

The drive axle tyre Semperit Runner D2 was specially designed for best traction, long service life, and durability. The newly developed tread pattern features a block design with sipes, which extend to almost two thirds of the total tread depth, providing greater block stability and improved wear behaviour. In addition, in their role as gripping edges, these sipes ensure especially good traction throughout the entire life of the Semperit Runner D2.

Just as for the Semperit Runner F2, the tread of the drive axle tyre Semperit Runner D2 has a void optimised pattern, effectively increasing the tyre life. Another contribution to the improved service life is the newly developed rubber compound, which enables substantial savings in fuel consumption. The Semperit Runner D2 features both the M+S label and the Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake (3PMSF) symbol.

The casings of the Semperit Runner F2 and the Semperit Runner D2 are fitted with a reinforced bead construction, allowing them to withstand changing loads. The high cord thickness in the bead reduces the leverage effects on the sidewalls, making the tyres more durable. The casings of all the tyres in the new Semperit Runner family can be retreaded, giving them a second tyre life.

With its new product offering Semperit is challenging the market for quality tyres suitable for use in combined regional and long-distance transportation.
