Stadco achieves double win at prestigious EEF Future Manufacturing Awards

Stadco, the leading international supplier of body-in-white products and services to the automotive industry, has won two regional awards at the Employers Engineering Federation (EEF) Future Manufacturing Awards: the Business Growth Award and the Health and Safety Award. 

The company was selected for both awards by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics and was up against stiff competition from a range of businesses, small and large, from across the Midlands. Stadco will now go on to find out if it has won the national titles at an awards gala dinner in London in April.

The Business Growth Award recognises manufacturers who have achieved dynamic business growth through actively managed and consistently delivered growth strategies and was given in recognition of Stadco’s rapid expansion. Since 2010 Stadco has developed and invested more than £50m in the UK in the latest smartest flexible manufacturing solutions and facility upgrades. This investment includes: the acquisition of its Telford facility in 2010; two leading edge transfer press lines and installation of fully flexible automated cells capable of producing 260,000 assemblies per year across a range of vehicle models. Stadco has created more than 400 new jobs since 2009, 200 of those during 2014/15.

The Health and Safety Award celebrates those that have achieved improvements in the health and safety culture of their workplace. One example of Stadco’s commitment to health and safety is its behavioural safety training programme which every employee in the business has undertaken. Stadco has reduced accident rates by 30 per cent year-on-year since 2011, and in turn reduced days lost as a result of injury by 90 per cent. Despite this strong performance, Stadco is continuing to strive to become a zero-harm employer.
