Stadco receives ‘Manufacturing Excellence’ accolade at prestigious Shropshire Business Awards
Stadco, the leading international supplier of body-in-white products and services to the automotive industry, was announced as the winner of the ‘Manufacturing Excellence’ category at the Shropshire Business Awards 2014 on Friday night. The awards and dinner were hosted by the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce at Telford’s International Centre.
The Manufacturing Excellence Award, sponsored by Barclays, goes to the manufacturing company that best demonstrates continuous improvement to achieve world-class manufacturing standards. The judges looked for evidence of:
- an engaged workforce that has developed (or is clearly developing);
- a culture of continuous improvement; and
- a company that clearly understands providing value to the customer.
Stadco was challenged to demonstrate these attributes through showcasing its leadership, manufacturing processes, new product introduction, development, sales and marketing, purchasing and all-round best practice.
One of the judges said that receiving the Manufacturing Excellence award goes some way in recognising the fantastic achievements that Stadco have made in such a short timeframe. What particularly impressed the judges was the cohesiveness demonstrated throughout the whole of the organisation.
Managing Director Chris Fisher said: “Winning this Manufacturing Excellence award is a direct reflection on every person in the organisation. Everybody engaged with this business over the last few years has played a part in winning this, and I thank everyone. We can all be quite rightly proud.
“We are in a process of creating a learning organisation, a business that drives to continuously improve, learns from what we did yesterday and commits to do it better tomorrow. This award is recognition of what we have all achieved so far and should encourage us to do even better tomorrow; we cannot afford to sit back and become complacent.”
