A stronger platform to stay connected

This month Sarah Kochli, marketing manager at Toshiba TEC is taking to the helm and telling us why we have decided to re-launch our site to reflect recent developments at Toshiba TEC and provide visitors with a more informative and unique experience.

The Internet has become such an integral part of everyday life that we often forget that few of us had even heard of it before 1993. That year there were 14,161,570 Internet users, which represented just 0.3 per cent of the world’s population. To indicate just how much it has grown in use, in 2014 that figure had risen to 2,925,249,355, or 40.4 per cent of those on the planet.

Needless to say, website development has been just as radical and what was once simple text based sites have morphed into ‘all singing, all dancing’ experiences where users can watch videos, download information and, thanks to social media, read the thoughts and opinions of friends and colleagues. The speed in which we can do this now has also transformed the experience – it wasn't until the early 2000s that broadband spared us the misery of the dial-up modem!

These days, to simply call a corporate website a ‘shop window’ doesn’t do it justice, as we can now gather more information about the people visiting than ever before and tailor information specifically to our customers. It doesn’t just have to provide information, be easy to navigate and look good though – it must also convey a company’s ethos.

Having just helped to develop Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems’ new website, I know only too well what’s involved in this process and I hope that you’ll take some time out to see what we’ve accomplished. We’re really pleased with the outcome, and even though I say it myself, it looks pretty good!

The new website is part of our move to bring all of our printing solutions under one division, so if you’re looking to find out more about our industry leading multifunction products (MFPs), desktop printers, and barcode/label printers, you’ll find information quickly and easily. It also reflects our Together Information strategy, which is transforming the way organisations manage, display and share information by creating tailored, environmentally sustainable solutions that enable them to maximise the value of printed data.

As well as regular news updates, a corporate overview and regular blogs, there’s a range of downloadable product specification documents and information about how Toshiba TEC’s Business Services team can solve operational challenges through the application of our solutions. You can also discover more about how we foster long-term client relationships that are based on trust, responsiveness and a commitment to delivering the best results in the service and support section.

Like the rest of my colleagues, I’m proud of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) based achievements and a dedicated section on the new website outlines how we look to enhance overall sustainability. Through the green procurement of environmentally compatible materials and parts, energy conservation and abolition of certain chemical substances, we systematically improve the ecological balance of our products.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

We’re moving…

From March 2015 our regular blog can now be found on www.toshibatec.co.uk/news/blog/
