NEW DIRECTOR FOR TOTAL AOC

Nathan Burkitt - one of two founders of aviation support services provider Total AOC - has joined the company in a full time capacity.

Burkitt joins the international business from Virgin Atlantic, where he was previously Training Standards Manager. He has been involved in aviation since 1997, starting as a First Officer for a UK-based short haul flyer. He later became a Training Captain flying a mix of Short, Medium and Ultra Longhaul. With almost 9,000 hours’ flying in Boeing 737s, 757s and Airbus A330s and A340s, Burkitt is a highly experienced and current pilot, trainer and examiner. He has also held a variety of critical training and compliance posts throughout his career. Previously he has worked as Head of Training (ATO) and Training Manager for Thomson Airways, and AOC Start-up Implementation Manager for Fly Vectra, among many others.

The new appointment will see Burkitt handle Total AOC’s training and compliance operations, which include serving as postholders for a variety of airlines. Burkitt now acts as Group Head of Pilot Training and Head of Operational Standards for Fastjet, as well as Regulatory Compliance Manager for a number of operators.
