Aviation services specialist QuAero has been appointed by Total AOC to distribute its powerful operational management tool Centrik within Malta, opening up a new market which is rapidly growing.

Thanks to the appointment, Centrik has already been deployed within a number of Maltese operators and is now used by the country’s aviation regulatory authority, Transport Malta.

Centrik provides a complete EASA-compliant management system, with modules for compliance, safety, risk, meetings, training, EFBs, workflows and documents. Operators can also choose to give regulators remote access to the management system, allowing them to easily prepare audits, reducing the impact of onerous oversight requirements on a business.

Capt. Karl Falzon, Director, QuAero, says: “We had looked at developing our own electronic management system but when we saw Centrik, we realised this was exactly the product the market needs. It’s intuitive, powerful and user-friendly and so we’re delighted we can now offer Centrik direct to the booming Maltese aviation sector.”

Bolstered by a fertile investment climate, aviation operations are growing rapidly in Malta. With a population of less than 500,000, the country has more than 200 registered aircraft, more than 25 independent AOC operators and four flight schools.

Julian Tubb, Director, Total AOC, says: “Malta’s aviation sector has huge potential and we’re delighted to have partnered with QuAero, an expert local partner. This is the first time we have entered into such a distribution arrangement, and initial feedback from the market suggests there is a big opportunity for Centrik.”

Falzon says Centrik has been received with great interest because of its overall quality and scope. He says: “Because Centrik has been designed by aviation experts, it provides exactly what operators are looking for. By having multiple modules all in one place, it’s easy to use while providing complete control, and the fact that Transport Malta uses it to manage its operations is testament to how effective Centrik is at aviation management.”

QuAero was formed in 2010 by five airline pilots with more than 50,000 flying hours collectively under their belts. The team, which holds a variety of graduate and postgraduate qualifications from the University of Malta, University of London and Cranfield University, provides crucial aviation services such as pilot training, EFB consultancy, crew resource management and consultancy on research and innovation.
