This is a region that actively promotes sustainable practices, for the eco-oriented traveller this means having a more immersive experience basking in nature and learning about culture and heritage, while also contributing to preserve them, including tea production. Monteaco, a pioneer in sustainable tea cultivation and planted a shining example of how responsible business practices can positively impact the environment and local communities in the north of Thailand.
"Forest Friendly Tea" is where Monteaco tea grown in harmony with nature in Northern Thailand and provides sustainable conditions to preserve forests, protect biodiversity and provide long term source of income for local tea farmers. For centuries, people in the mountains of Northern Thailand and surrounding countries have fermented and eaten tea leaves, creating a dish called “Hmiang”. When producing tea for “Hmiang”, tea plants are allowed to grow tall together with the surrounding forest. The same way of thinking has been used but instead Monteaco produces high quality teas, creating a new way forward in the world of tea together with the farmers.
Commitment to Sustainability of Tea Farming Methods:
Monteaco's eco-friendly approach to tea cultivation.
Monteaco embraces sustainable tea farming methods that prioritize environmental conservation and social responsibility. By adopting sustainable agriculture practices, Monteaco ensures the long-term viability of their tea production while minimizing the ecological footprint on the land.
Monteaco's commitment to sustainability goes beyond their farming practices. By empowering local residents and fostering economic growth, Monteaco contributes to the socio-economic development of the region, creating a sustainable livelihood for the people. In addition to their dedication to sustainable tea farming, Monteaco also prioritizes environmental conservation.
