Pennsylvania daily merges newsroom and Web systems

BEAVER, PA. -- The Beaver County Times has consolidated its Web and newsroom front-end systems so it can more quickly and efficiently produce both online and print products.

The Beaver County Times is a part of Calkins Media. They join the Herald-Standard of Uniontown, Pa., The Times of Northwest Indiana, The Billings Gazette of Billings, MT., The Lincoln Star-Journal of Lincoln, NE., Casper Star Tribune of Casper, WY., Sioux City Journal of Sioux City, Ia., and other papers in choosing Total CMS from TownNews.com.

Newspapers who have consolidated Web and newsroom production systems have found they can produce print, Web and mobile products on a much more efficient basis, including up to a doubling of print pages.

"We're pleased to offer this industry-leading solution that helps newspapers publish Web, print and mobile publications. Total CMS is a great solution for newspapers who have deferred upgrading their newsroom front end systems. The Calkins folks were great to work with," said Marc Wilson, CEO of Townnews.com.
