THE curtain is set to rise on a dramatic new beauty event at The Trafford Centre, as the glitz of the theatre world gives women across the region the chance to choose a new look for 2010.

The Theatre of Beauty is a special one-week only event (1-7 Feb) which brings together a host of global players in the cosmetics, beauty and lifestyle industries, keen to kick start a new year with special offers, give-aways, beauty demonstrations and treatments. Says The Trafford Centre’s Caroline Hall: “In 2010, the experts say that beauty will take on a theatrical flavour, with well-defined colours and contours. Lips will be full, with rich tones dominating. The catwalks of Milan and Paris have given us a sneak preview of this exciting trend, and we’re bringing that high-glamour to Manchester. “The look is dramatic, but graceful and precise. “This gives us a chance to connect the glamour and style of the entertainment world with the theatre of The Trafford Centre, and create an event that really captures the imagination. “We change our fashion with the season, but hair, makeup and perfume are often locked in the past. Looks can easily become dated and age us, rather than make us feel younger. “We’ll present a range of different beauty styles - like different characters and faces in a play. “The Trafford Centre Beauty Theatre is the perfect place to take off that mask and create a new you with the help of our experts.” Events include:  A Beauty Stage on the malls for short demonstrations and pre-booked audience events. Three shows daily: 2pm, 6pm, 8pm  Backstage Pass on the malls for one-to-one treatments e.g. Facials, massage, makeovers To run from 2pm-10pm  Colour workshop on The Bandstand  Giveaways and samples in-store  Goody bags and competitions Feature Ideas: Supported with visuals, interview opportunities and complimentary journalist visits. Dramatic Potential: Which role is right for you? Vamp? Drama Queen? Glam goddess? Step on stage at The Beauty Theatre and have us design you a whole new look. Ageless Beauty: Whether you are entering your 40s, 50s, 60s or beyond, it’s never too late to update your look – and this season’s trends lend themselves to reinvention at any age. Gothic Glamour: From vampire punks to emo chic, we take the street-level look and give it a grown-up twist. Alter Ego: Have you ever fancied surprising your friends by letting out your inner artist? We’ll take you through the steps to create another you. Loud Lips: What are your lips really saying? Sexy, loud or plain outrageous, ensure your make-up message is saying all the right things with our expert assistance.
