Trapets AB launches Outsourced Market Surveillance
Trapets AB, one of Europe’s leading independent providers of trade surveillance and compliance solutions, is pleased to announce the signing of our first client on Outsourced Market Surveillance.
To assist firms in achieving regulatory compliance regarding trade monitoring and surveillance, Trapets AB has launched Outsourced Market Surveillance, “OMS”.
OMS is a fully outsourced service where a team of experts within Trapets perform the operational surveillance tasks on behalf of the firm, including detection, investigation, documentation and reporting of suspicious transactions. The service also includes the surveillance system InstantWatch Market along with its installation, implementation and setup.
OMS is available in two versions; Full and Basic which both include the entire spectrum of surveillance procedures- from installing and setting up the surveillance system to the operational surveillance tasks, including periodic and immediate feedback to the firm. The only difference is that in OMS-Full Trapets carries out the reporting of STRs directly to the regulator while in the Basic version all cases of suspicious market abuse are reported back to the firm for final decision.
The OMS team will operate from Trapets’ premises in Stockholm and will be headed up by Peter Nylén who joined Trapets in August 2013 from Burgundy, where he held the position of Head of Market Surveillance. Prior to that Peter worked at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority as a Senior Investigator where he conducted market abuse investigations and was responsible for the handling of STRs.
