AP3 recruits Portfolio Manager for External Management from the Riksbank

AP3 external management team is strengthening its team by recruiting Veronica Wahlberg as Portfolio Manager. Veronica is leaving her position at the Riksbank, Sweden's central bank, where she worked in the Monetary Policy Department and in the Markets Department running a wide spectrum of different analysis. Veronica’s background is Ålandsbanken and Kaupthing Bank working within manager research and manager selection.

Veronica has a strong quantitative background and qualitative skills which makes her a great fit to AP3 External management team. The recruiting process aimed to find a replacement for Peter Ragnarsson who is leaving AP3 end of November.

Swedish Third National Pension Fund (AP3) is one of five buffer funds in the Swedish income pension system. The Fund has the parliamentary mandate to manage the Fund's assets to the greatest possible benefit for the pension system by creating a high return at a low risk level. AP3 has a return of 9.3 percent on average per year over the past five years. The corresponding figure for the income is 2.4 percent, which means that AP3's return has greatly contributed to the pension system. As of 30 June 2015 managed fund 304 billion.
