This is only a fragment of what he stands to eventually receive in company stock.vMusk's total cash compensation in 2013 officially was $33,280, which although was in tune with the minimum wage in California, he only takes $1 per year in pay.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) formally opened its doors to employees and state and local dignitaries in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday. The company has opened its new Finance Center building in Lake Mary. At the ceremony Gov. Rick Scott announced that Verizon would now add an additional 350 jobs to the original 750 it planned to bring to Lake Mary, raising the total number of new jobs in the area to 1,100.
