SRE, a subsidiary of Opcon AB, the energy and environmental technology Group, today received an additional order for a flue gas condensation from a bioenergy plant in Switzerland. The customer is the district heating plant owned by the municipality in Winterthur, which by using Opcon’s technology for waste heat recovery will increase its energy efficiency by around 25-30% while significantly reducing emissions of particles. Together with a new extra order from Enerbois this means new orders totalling SEK 7 million within bioenergy from Switzerland. Since the breakthrough on the Swiss market around 12 months ago SRE has now won orders worth SEK 34 million within bioenergy on the Swiss market alone. “Our breakthrough in the Swiss market around a year ago continues to bear fruit and it shows the great export potential for Swedish energy and environmental technology. We are now making major efforts within our Renewable Energy business area to export this technology that we have developed in Sweden. SRE already has customers in ten countries outside Sweden and we expect to break into a further couple of new markets this year,” says Rolf Hasselström, President and CEO of Opcon AB. SRE is a part of Opcon’s expanding Renewable Energy business area and its focus on Waste Heat Recovery and Bioenergy, among other areas. SRE supplies systems for treatment and improved energy efficiency at district heating plants powered by biofuels, sawmills, pellets producers and commercial greenhouses. The company also delivers treatment equipment to industrial companies and drying systems for biomass. SRE’s Renergi product system is based on heat recovery through flue gas condensation and means both significantly reduced emissions and major energy savings, where the capacity of a bioenergy-based boiler can be increased by around 25-50% after upgrading depending on configuration, while emissions of particles, for example are reduced.
