Svensk Rökgasenergi (SRE) a subsidiary of Opcon AB, the energy and environmental technology Group, has today secured its largest export order and the largest ever order to the district heating plant sector. The end customer is the French company Dalkia which operates the Vilnius district heating plant, Vilnius Energija. SRE will supply two complete flue gas condensing installations with two condensers, four filters and four water treatment systems, in order to raise efficiency during biomass powering. The boiler capacity amounts to 60 MW. The order is worth SEK 22 million for SRE and shall be delivered during 2009.

- “This is the largest export order for SRE to date and a testimony to the success of our active internationalization work. However, it also demonstrates that our strategic choice of supplying modulized products with an advanced degree of standardization in order to hold down price and safeguard operation has been successful. Through combining more modules into a larger system we are now also supplying our standardized products to larger district heating plants”, says Rolf Hasselström, President and CEO of Opcon AB.

SRE is part of Opcon’s expanding Renewable Energy business area and their investment in Waste Heat Recovery and Bioenergy, among other areas. SRE supplies systems for cleaning and improving energy efficiency to biomass-powered district heating plants, sawmills, pellet producers and commercial greenhouses. However, they also deliver cleaning equipment to industries and drying systems for biomass. SRE’s product system Renergi is based on heat recycling through flue gas condensing and means substantially reduced emissions as well as considerable energy savings where the degree of efficiency in a biomass-powered boiler can be raised by approximately 25-30 percent, while particle emissions, among other things, are reduced at the same time.
