Trimble is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted in the ‘Industry Supplier of the Year’ category for the Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Awards 2012.

The prestigious awards aim to celebrate public and private organisations that are successfully reducing fuel bills and lowering carbon footprints through better transport policies and improved fleet efficiency. The awards also recognise companies that supply cost and fuel saving products or services to fleets.

“Trimble solutions have helped our fleet and field service customers achieve fantastic results, enabling reduced emissions and supporting them in reaching their carbon footprint reduction goals,” said Mark Forrest, general manager, Trimble Field Service Management. “We are delighted to have had this innovation recognised and proud to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award.”

Established as a leading event in the green awards calendar, this year’s awards attracted over one hundred entries.

Philip Sellwood, Chief Executive of Energy Saving Trust, said: “The Fleet Hero Awards recognise organisations that are helping the UK to significantly reduce their carbon emissions. This plays a vital role in meeting the UK’s sustainability targets.

“This year we’ve had an overwhelming response, so choosing the shortlist proved to be a difficult task! We do, however, have an extremely strong collection of organisations that have impressed the judges with their commitment to green fleet management. We look forward to celebrating their success at the awards ceremony in November.”

The 2012 ceremony will be held at the Institute of Directors (IoD) in London on Tuesday, 20 November and will be attended by Norman Baker MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, along with other notable business leaders and government representatives.

The 12 award categories are: Best Public Sector Fleet; Best Private Sector Fleet; Smarter Driving; Grey Fleet Management; Business Mileage Management; Industry Supplier of the Year; Transport Solutions Supplier of the Year; Innovation in Car & Van Manufacturing; Innovation in Services and Systems; Innovation in Fleet Management; Leadership Award; and Commercial Vehicle Management Award (including HGVs and large passenger carrying vehicles).
