The latest change in social media marketing is set to be the launch of another social networking site- Google Circles; changing site marketing techniques again.
Webmasters predict that Google is set to launch its own social network within the next few months. According to the technology blog, The Next Web the unrivalled search engine giant is set to unveil ‘Google Circles’ at the upcoming Google I/O conference in the US. Google Circles is expected to allow network users to share only selected content with people who belong to the appropriate social circles in their lives.
Social media analysts hold the belief that Google will put itself in direct competition with the largest social network in history. Speaking on behalf of Google, a spokesman has issued the following statement; 'We do not comment on rumour and speculation.'

'Whatever Google comes up with, it almost certainly won't be a competitive social network that mimics Facebook,' 'That ship has sailed - Facebook has 600million users, and nobody's going to join yet another social network to share photos and status updates with friends.'
Google Circles is set to be the search engines third attempt at launching a social network. The first was Google Orkut, which was launched in 2004- and took off in other countries but failed to become popular in the Uk. In 2010 they launched Google Buzz, which connected people automatically, on the basis that they contacted them the most through their Gmail accounts. Google did not anticipate that Buzz users would resent being automatically connected to people without their consent first, and received numerous complaints as a result.
