New Swedish consumer portal turns delays into money

Stockholm November 18, 2013

The new Swedish consumer portal www.trstravelright.eu will make a huge difference to passengers suffering from delays, cancellations and denied boarding. Tens of thousands of passengers will get what is rightfully theirs: Money and justice. Their legal claims cannot be ignored, whether they travel by air, train, bus or ferry. However, many passengers are unwilling to engage in legal struggle.

– Close to a million passengers per year have the right to compensation of up to 600 euro. Today a fraction of these passengers get compensated. Travelright intends to change that, says Stephan Eriksson, international aviation law expert at Travelright.

At www.trstravelright.eu consumers may, in a matter of seconds, calculate the exact sum of their claim.  The legal experts at Travelright will then take the matter into their hands. Travelright will only charge passengers if we manage to collect compensation.

– The money belongs to the passengers, not to the travel companies, says Stephan Eriksson.

Following the introduction on the Swedish market Travelright will shortly expand into Norway, Denmark and Finland and then further out into EU.
Travelright also assists corporations and their employees suffering delays, cancellations and denied boarding on business trips.

Facts:

• Sweden, Norway and Denmark have a common flight passenger market of more than 90 million.

• Passengers have the right to compensation with up to 600 euro or more if their flight, train, coach or ferry is delayed, cancelled or if they are denied boarding.

• The right to compensation is stipulated in the following EU Regulations:

– EU Regulation (EC) 261/2004 on establishing common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights

– EU Regulation (EU) 1177/2010 concerning the rights of passengers when travelling by sea and inland waterway

– EU Regulation (EU) 181/2011 concerning the rights of passengers in bus and coach transport

–  EU Regulation (EC) 1371/2007 on rail passengers’ rights and obligations
