It’s True, it works

Peter Kelly is well known in the Widnes area for his three successful venues – The Beat Bar, The Corner House Sports Bar and The Ring O’ Bells Public House.

“The key to running three establishments is that I need to have the best equipment in place,” says Peter Kelly. “It needs to be reliable. In terms of refrigeration, I don’t want to be worrying about whether my bottle coolers are cold or if my fridges are holding at the correct temperature, I just want them to work so I can get on with day to day managing the businesses.”

When looking to replace his old bottle coolers in The Beat Bar nightclub Peter Kelly turned to Dave Owen at Trend Refrigeration, Liverpool, to find out what would be best. Dave Owen didn’t hesitate to recommend True units as he knew from experience that these top-end coolers would fit the bill perfectly.

“In the first instance we replaced three of the old coolers with the True units,” explains Dave Owen. “These worked so efficiently that we have replaced all the coolers in The Beat Bar with True ones.” There are now seven GDM9E bottle coolers in the nightclub as well as a True freezer for storage.

“The coolers are fantastic at chilling the beer down,” says Peter Kelly. “They are first class. They fit in behind the bar, are easy for staff to use and are just the job.”

Because of the impressive and dependable performance of the True bottle coolers at The Beat Bar, Peter Kelly once again specified True when fitting out his Corner House Sports Bar. Here there are four True GDM9E bottle coolers and a True upright fridge, used for bar snacks.

Peter Kelly’s third and newest venue, The Ring O’ Bells, is a village pub in Farworth just outside Widnes. Recently refurbished to a very high standard, the Ring O’ Bells is a friendly and popular venue offering home cooked food, live music and good beer. The foodservice side of the Ring O’ Bells has really taken off and once again Peter Kelly has relied on True to provide the refrigeration in the kitchen, fitting a T19 upright fridge and a T23 freezer.

“Peter is looking to put more True units into the Ring O’ Bells,” says Dave Owen. “There are two bars in there and he wants to put True bottle coolers in both. He always buys top quality equipment because he knows it will last. For Peter the real test for his bottle coolers and fridges is whether they give him any problems - and the True units don’t.”
