True Refrigeration’s draught beer dispensers keep punters happy at Towcester Racecourse
It’s True, it’s a racing cert
With a recent investment of over £7.5million into the course and its facilities, Towcester Racecourse is not just about horse racing. It is billed as Northamptonshire’s most picturesque conference, wedding and hospitality venue with views over the course and surrounding parkland.
To cope with varying demand and different types of function Towcester Racecourse uses two True TDD-3 draught beer dispensers alongside conventional bar facilities. The free-standing draught beer dispensers are easy to set up and are a simple way to create additional bar areas. The units can be supplied as static units or with castors for increased mobility.
Once in position, the unit chills draught beer rapidly. When serving, cold air is directed into the beer column to reduce foaming and wastage. All TDD units are self-contained, easy to clean and maintain with wipe clean stainless steel counters.
“Here at Towcester one of the beer dispensers is permanently installed in a restaurant without a cellar to enable us to offer draught lager and bitter where previously only canned and bottled beers were available,” says Adam Cafe, commercial manager at Towcester Racecourse. “This allows us to increase the volume of wet sales and adds value to the facility by offering clients more choice.”
The other beer dispenser is used in the racecourse’s marquee facilities out and about on the site. It means cold draught beer can now be on tap for punters at a whole host of events and occasions, including while they are catching the excitement of horses racing ‘over the sticks’.
“Because the dispenser is mobile it can be moved wherever and whenever there is a demand,” says Adam Cafe. “It can be called into action within a short period of time and is easy to maintain once set up.”
James Dufficy of Cool Beers who supplied the TDDs to Towcester Racecourse says, “There are other beer dispensers on the market but they are not nearly as good. The True units are regarded as the Rolls Royce among beer dispensers due to their quality and functional design.”
The two TrueTDD-3 draught beer dispensers at Towcester each have a capacity of three 11 gallon kegs and measure 940mm (h) x 1756mm (w) x 689mm (d).
