TT electronics opens new production centre in Romania
New factory increases European production capabilities
Weybridge, UK, 08 October 2012: TT electronics has opened its latest European production centre in Timisoara, Romania. The new facility will be manufacturing a range of advanced power modules, microelectronic devices and sensors for Industrial and Transportation applications.
“TT electronics is making a significant investment and commitment into the new facility in Timisoara,” said Geraint Anderson, CEO at TT electronics. “We are producing leading edge electronics for some of the world’s biggest brands so choosing the right location was absolutely key for us. I am delighted with the performance of the entire team engaged in getting the facility up and running to meet our customer requirements.”
The new production facility covers approximately 5000 square meters and currently employs 35 local staff with plans in place to increase that to about 100 throughout the coming year as new production lines are added.
Florin Tulcan, operations manager at TT electronics’ Timisoara facility continued, “Timisoara was selected as the location for the new factory ahead of several other locations for a number of reasons. The area is rapidly developing and offers superb transport links to the rest of Europe and the city supports a large university as well as several other advanced technology companies enabling us to recruit knowledgeable experienced staff.”
