LAC, part of TurnIT Supplies, has won a major order for components for an American manufacturer of systems for the mobile Internet LAC Elektronik AB, which is part of TurnIT Supplies, has won an order for the supply of components for mobile Internet systems, with running suborders during 2001. The order is valued at about SEK 32 million, which exceeds the previous estimate for volume drawn up for the starting order in October 2000. The order will deepen co-operation with one of the USA's most successful manufacturers of systems for the mobile Internet. LAC is an established player in the supply and development of components to the telecoms industry and other industries throughout the world. Its products are tailored to customers' requirements, and typical uses include radio frequency applications, signal filtering and circuit boost functions. Other applications are digital WAN and mobile telenetworks, as well as fixed line access networks. Customers include Dell, Hewlett- Packard, Compaq, Ericsson, Nokia, IBM, Telia, Tele2, Teracom, SCI, Celestica and Flextronics. "This order strengthens our position as a strategic supplier of components for mobile Internet systems" says LAC's President, Torbjörn Heidergren, in his comments. "We are involved at an early stage in 3G systems, and this agreement may well lead to greater co-operation" concludes Torbjörn Heidergren. TurnIT AB is one of the larger Swedish IT groups listed on the OM Stockholm Stock Exchange's Attract40 list. TurnIT has about 1350 employees. Its business idea is to act as an IT partner, and to offer a share with lower than average risk through the acquisition of companies in different areas of the IT market.
