BeA achieves globally recognised quality standard

BeA Fastening Systems, the specialist manufacturer of fastening tools, technology and consumables for the building, timber frame and off-site construction industries, has successfully achieved a globally recognised quality standard.

Following a rigorous and robust auditing process carried out by an independent assessor, the business has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification, which is viewed internationally as the quality benchmark for business and organisations across every sector.

BeA was awarded its certification following an in-depth assessment conducted by BM TRADA – an appointed service provider to TRADA (Timber Research and Development Association) member associations.

Speaking of the certification, John Mercer, managing director at BeA, said: “Throughout our 100 year history, BeA has always been committed to excellence in everything we do. Our success in achieving ISO 9001:2008 reflects that and provides customers in the building, timber frame and off-site construction market with third party verification of our quality focused approach.”

In order to secure ISO 9001:2008, companies and organisations must be able to demonstrate stringent quality management systems and targets across many different and diverse areas of their operations.

Everything is scrutinized and evaluated by a third party certification body - from service delivery and operational management to business planning, administration and even employment practices.

Applicants must also show they are committed to continuous improvement and agree to undergo annual audits as well as recertification every three years.

In awarding BeA its certification to ISO 9001:2008, assessors from BM TRADA praised the company for being a well-run and professional business with a highly experienced and knowledgeable team of staff. BeA was also complimented for the robust nature of its quality management systems.

Concluding, John Mercer adds: “BeA holds a number of quality certifications and awards but ISO 9001:2008 remains one of the most important because of its universal, high profile and far reaching nature.

“We are absolutely delighted to be certified and I would like to congratulate the entire BeA team for their continued efforts in working to the very highest standards.”
