Bond It boosts sales force

Manufacturer of sealants, adhesives, grouts, polyurethanes, waterproofing compounds and other building chemicals, Bond It has made two key appointments to its national sales force. Tim Jennings and Lee Allan have both joined the business as area sales managers with responsibility for territories covering South Wales and East Scotland respectively.

David Moore, managing director at Bond It, said of the appointments: “As a business, Bond It continues to go from strength to strength and we are seeing sustained and impressive growth in demand for our products. To ensure our standards of service keep pace with an expanding customer base and to help facilitate plans for further success and growth, we are delighted to welcome Tim and Lee to the team.”

Prior to joining Bond It, Tim held sales roles in a number of family owned businesses involved in areas closely related to the construction industry - including landscaping supplies and architectural ironmongery.

Similarly, Lee has past experience of the trade having spent almost two decades in the building and roofline industry. For a significant proportion of his career, he has held branch manager posts with national distributors of fascias, soffits, cladding and other PVC-U building materials.

Lee’s post is newly created and actually results from Bond It’s recent decision to restructure its sales force; splitting a territory that had previously covered all of Scotland into two - West Scotland and East Scotland. This has enabled the business to offer customers in both areas increased levels of coverage and greater access to field-based sales advice and support.

As part of the same restructuring, Bond It also promoted two existing areas sales managers into new regional manager roles. Karl Radwan, formerly area sales manager for the North West, now heads up all of Bond It’s field-based sales professionals in the North, whilst Roger Etherington, formerly area sales manager for the West Midlands, enjoys the same responsibility for the South.

By strengthening its middle management tier, Bond It is aiming to ensure continued strong leadership and direction as well as impressive levels of responsiveness as the business rapidly expands.

Commenting on his appointment, Tim Jennings said: “I have always enjoyed sales as well working with trade customers and joining Bond It will enable me to build on that. I’m looking forward to selling a truly impressive range of products and to playing a part in Bond It’s continuing success.”

Speaking of his appointment, Lee Allan added: “Throughout my career in the building and roofline industry, I have encountered Bond It products many times and on at least one occasion, the business was actually our main supplier of silicones and adhesives.

“My familiarity with the range and its benefits, as well as with the company and its culture, meant I was keen to apply for the post of area sales manager for East Scotland when it became available. I’m hoping the insight I can offer customers having previously been a stockist and a customer myself, will contribute to Bond It’s ambitious plans for further expansion.”
