Higgins offers van as birthday 'gift'
Higgins Building Suppliers, the independent builder’s merchant with branches in Wellingborough and Irthingborough, is staging a special competition to its 150th birthday.
The business, which celebrates its centenary and a half in 2016, is offering one lucky customer the chance to win the keys to a brand new Vauxhall Combo van.
The 'Win a Van' competition is part of a wider series of events and initiatives planned throughout 2016 to mark Higgins' 150th year.
The company is also running special promotions and offering commemorative merchandising.
In addition, in September, it will stage an anniversary trade day where the winner of the van will be revealed.
Higgins has been supplying the building trade throughout Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire since 1866.
Today, it ranks as one of the oldest independent builder's merchants in the UK.
Current MD, Nigel Higgins is the fifth generation of the Higgins family to head up the company.
Speaking of the 'Win a Van' competition, Nigel said: "150 years in business is a major milestone which warrants some equally major celebrations. Our competition which offers one customer the chance to win a van reflects that.
"We hope it will foster the same excitement amongst our customer-base that we feel as we celebrate our 150th year."
