Making light work of lifting

Trade professionals, DIY enthusiasts, farmers, horse owners and other individuals who need to lift large pieces of sheet material as well as heavy bags such as those used to contain sand, aggregates and animal feed are receiving a helping hand courtesy of Olympia Tools.

The business, which distributes the Roughneck brand of hand tools and workwear, has recently extended its Roughneck Gorilla Gripper range with a new product known as the Roughneck Gorilla Gripper Advantage.

This innovative tool can be used to grip and lift items including plasterboard, MDF, plywood, hardboard, chipboard, OSB, sheet metal and large paper or plastic bags.

Its intelligent design dramatically improves safety levels and also turns what can often be a two person task into a one person, singlehanded task.

Vahe Der Kureghian, purchasing and marketing director at Olympia Tools, comments: “Many trade professionals face the need to lift large sheet items or bags on a regular basis. This frequently entails a two person lift due to the size, shape or weight of the items involved.

“The new Roughneck Gorilla Gripper Advantage however helps to change that. It enables a single user to take a secure grip on an item with one hand and to lift it in a way that significantly reduces the stresses placed on the user’s back, shoulders, neck, hands and fingers.

“As such, it’s not only a simpler solution; it’s also a much safer one helping to reduce the risk of strains and other injuries.”

The new Roughneck Gorilla Gripper Advantage builds on the success and popularity of the brand’s existing Gorilla Grippers which are made from aircraft grade aluminium.

The new product employs the same design but is actually constructed from a different material - fibre reinforced polymer. This has the benefit of lowering the product’s cost.

The new Roughneck Gorilla Gripper Advantage is capable of carrying loads up to 45kg in weight and measuring up to 19mm in depth. It also features a soft-grip cushioned handle for optimum user comfort and, like all Gorilla Gripper products, is made in the USA. Olympia Tools is the exclusive master distributor for all Gorilla Gripper products in Europe.

Concluding, Vahe adds: “Olympia Tools has an unrelenting focus on innovation and continued improvement. As part of this, we continue to seek out opportunities to not only enhance existing tool design but also our own product portfolio. The launch of our new Roughneck Gorilla Gripper Advantage reflects this approach.

“Since their introduction our existing Gorilla Grippers have delivered strong and sustained sales and the new Roughneck Gorilla Gripper Advantage aims to build on that. Its use of a different material and subsequently lower price point will make the impressive benefits of the Gorilla Gripper range even more widely accessible.”
