ASTAR STUDIOS LAUNCHES NEW CD MASTERING AND MANUFACTURE DIVISIONS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Astar Studios has launched two new divisions - Astar Mastering and Astar Duplication to offer standalone  CD Mastering and Manufacturing services.

Previously available only to Astar's studio and media clients, producer owner Andy Ross aims to consolidate the manufacture market and help self-releasing artists and independent labels afford the same high quality of CD mastering, design and manufacture as major labels.

Ross opened the Lancashire based studio 3 years ago and was among last year's 12 Mercury Prize 'Albums of the Year' after producing 'Golden' by the Kit Downes Trio. Astar also featured as a finalist at the 'Audio Pro Awards' in the category for 'Most Original Studio Initiative' after introducing the UK's first zero percent loans for recording.

Astar is one of a new wave of UK studios where the emphasis is on the recording environment rather than a flashy venue to hang out. Located within a converted industrial unit with nearby residential facilities, the studio blends cutting edge recording technology with groundbreaking acoustic design to offer outstanding hi-end recording quality at affordable prices. Clients benefit from post production, promotional and PR services provided by highly respected industry associates.

Explaining the decision behind the new Astar divisions, Andy Ross told us, "Good mastering has always been hard to find and come at a premium. By taking control and expanding our mastering capability, we are able to ensure quality and value for our clients. The decision to lift the exclusivity on CD manufacture is in response to increased demand, following the demise of three of the UK's main manufacturers within the past 18 months. Although the days of the Audio CD are numbered we are in a strong position to consolidate the remaining market. I believe that physical CD EPs and albums still offer an important promotional footprint and sales tool and the new service will guide clients through the complex process of putting together a CD for manufacture."
