A northwest music store is celebrating its 90th anniversary with the opening of a spectacular new superstore to showcase some of the most desirable and affordable musical instruments, recording and PA equipment ever made. On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September, Reidy’s Home of Music will make musical history when it welcomes customers old and new to its stunning new superstore in Nab lane at the heart of Blackburn’s university campus and Learning Zone.

This is a 'do not miss' opportunity for anyone from the northwest region who plays or wants to learn to play to enjoy a mix of live music, fun and informative presentations at the 6500 square foot superstore - the largest north of London. Customers will be able to take advantage of some fantastic opening weekend Special Offers and enter a prize draw for an early Christmas present of £500 to put towards the instrument of their choice. Plus Reidy’s are offering an up to 2 hours free car parking refund for customers spending £5 or more upon presentation of their ticket from the adjacent Fielden Street multi-storey car park.

The new superstore features a massive wall of guitars - possibly the world’s largest; a state-of-the-art ‘Yamaha Homeworld’, a ‘Fender Room’ and a live stage for in-store events. Throughout the weekend product specialists from the world’s largest brands including Fender, Gibson and Yamaha will be on hand to rock out for visitors, performing stunning live demonstrations and offering invaluable advice and expert playing tips. Plus – among the musical treats lined up for Saturday 8th September is a performance by jazz sensation and double MOBO Award winning saxophonist, YolanDa Brown and on Sunday 9th September courtesy of Fender Guitars, one of music’s major characters of the last 40 years, the legendary guitarist Wilko Johnson - Dr Feelgood will be playing, taking questions and signing autographs in-store.

A haven for all things guitar related, Reidy’s holds over 4000 electric and acoustic guitars in stock, along with a staggering array of guitar amps, from all the major guitar brands including Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Takamine, PRS, Taylor, Guild, Yamaha and more, including an extensive selection of left-handed models.

As one of the UK’s leading Fender dealers, the new Reidy’s Home of Music superstore boasts a stunning ‘Fender Room’ to create an Aladdin’s cave for guitarists, featuring the most treasured selection of Fender Guitars available, from entry level to limited edition Custom models.

The new ‘Yamaha Homeworld’ based at Reidy’s Home of Music showcases the full range of Yamaha digital pianos and keyboards designed to meet the musical challenges of the 21stcentury, and throughout the opening weekend renowned keyboard exponent and top Yamaha demonstrator, Ian House will be on hand to play and demonstrate any of the stunning range of Yamaha instruments including the Hybrid AvantGrand pianos and award winning CLP and CVP Clavinovas.

As well as boasting a vast selection of digital pianos and keyboards for the home user, Reidy’s stocks Kawai, Weber and Yamaha acoustic pianos. Reidy’s also regularly has refurbished pianos available at very attractive prices.

Still a family run business today, Reidy's Home of Music headed by Managing Director, Paul Nuttall, was established in 1922 and has played an important part in the musical heritage and cultural life of Blackburn, extending its customer base nationally since 2001 to become one of the UK’s most successful online music retailers. Until recently the store was located on Penny St from where Paul's mother managed Lancashire's answer to The Beatles - 'The Four Pennies' in the 1960s. In the 1990s brother Cris founded, 'All Around the World Records', enjoying huge success with artists including Cascada, Danni Minogue and N-Dubz.

The new superstore carries an extensive selection of sheet music and the education department showcases a vast selection of orchestral strings and brass and woodwind instruments, with specialist support for students and teachers.

Drummers are equally well catered for, with a wide choice of acoustic and electronic drums from leading brands including Yamaha and Pearl, and both traditional and hi-tech music makers and producers will discover all the instruments and tools they need to realize their musical vision at the new superstore.

Reidy’s Managing Director Paul Nuttall told us, “It’s remarkable to think that the business my grandparents started is celebrating the milestone of its 90thanniversary. The key to the success of Reidy’s Home of Music has always been the quality of personal service extended to its customers and relocating to the new superstore in Nab Lane, Blackburn, marks the beginning of a new musical era for Reidy’s that can only enhance the shopping experience, value for money and level of service to our customers.”
