The DocuPrint P1202 is Xerox’ first personal laser printer to support the Macintosh environment and PostScript Level 2 printing. The feature set, quality, compact size and affordability of these networkable printers make the products smart solutions at competitive pricing - the DocuPrint P8ex, has an estimated list price of US$490, and the DocuPrint P1202 a list price of US$899. “Joining its sister product the P8e, the P8ex delivers the most comprehensive feature set at this level at low cost and high quality. With their expanded capabilities and features, the P8ex and the P1202 perfectly complement our award-winning personal printer line,” said Ged Thompson, European Marketing Director Xerox Channels Group. “Xerox is proud to be the first company to feature a Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface and a parallel port in these products, to give users maximum peripheral flexibility. We have proven again that customers can get more for their money with Xerox printers, and that we can provide the range of choices that customers want and need.” Small size, superior value In addition to the USB interface and superior 1200-dpi image quality, the DocuPrint P8ex provides several advantages over competitive products: 4 MB of memory standard, and expandable to 36 MB 150-sheet capacity paper input tray Larger toner cartridge yield 5,000 pages PCL 5e and PCL6 emulation Network connectivity through the Xerox CentreDirect External Print Server Special print driver features which enable watermarks and N-Up printing The DocuPrint P8ex supports Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 and DOS printing. The flexible paper handling and short paper path enable printing with a variety of media types, including envelopes, transparencies and labels. Finally, its compact design requires less desk space while maintaining the speed and quality of a larger unit. Fast printing for PCs, Macs The Xerox DocuPrint P1202 Personal Laser Printer prints up to 20 per cent faster than the recently announced HP LaserJet 2100, HP’s closest comparable model.
