Parcel and Mail carrier, UK Mail, is supporting The Royal British Legion for this special year; as they commemorate 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War. To promote the Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal, UK Mail is proudly displaying poppies across their entire vehicle fleet.

From 3rd to 21st November, the public can spot 100 vehicles from the head office site in Birmingham and almost 2000 UK Mail vans and LGV vehicles around the UK, which will all be sporting the poppies and raising awareness of the Legion and the work they do.

Since the charity partnership began in April 2014, UK Mail and its’ employees have raised almost £13,000 for the charity. Staff have staged fundraising events such as cake bakes, dress down days, bike rides and shaving off beards, with the company doubling any money raised for the cause.

The £40 million which The Royal British Legion hopes to raise through the 2014 Poppy Appeal, will be used to help in the wonderful work they do providing care and support to serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

UK Mail Chief Executive says ‘We are delighted to have chosen The Royal British Legion as one of our charity partners this year and we are doing our bit to support the amazing work they do with the Armed Forces community. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship over the coming months.”

Louise Ajdukiewicz, Head of Corporate Partnerships at The Royal British Legion adds ‘Working with UK Mail and its employees during this important centenary period has been such a fantastic experience so far, and we look forward to further developing the partnership in 2015.’
