ipostparcels introduce new ‘Parcel Tracker’

ipostparcels have integrated an improved parcel tracking system into their operations which is set to provide recipients with greater transparency of their parcel’s journey in real time. The upgrade incorporates text alerts and electronically displays the parcel’s position in the delivery sequence as the delivery driver progresses along their route.

The new system provides customers with complete visibility of their parcel journey and enables customers to assess when the item has been collected from the sender. The device also has the capability of providing finer details, as the ‘Parcel Tracker’ option provides users with their position on the driver’s route and allows the customer to opt for a free ‘You’re Next’ alert via email or text message, when the driver is at the stop prior to theirs.

The application also increases the control customers have of their delivery arrangements. Users are able to rearrange their delivery for an alternative day, or, in most cases, customers can opt for their items to be left in a safe place or with a neighbour. The solution also provides further benefits to the user, as the device is fully operational on smartphones.

Ros Hunt, Marketing Director, said: ‘‘The introduction of this customer facing technology aims to enhance our user experience, as senders and recipients are able to independently track the progress of consignments through our parcel network. In turn, this will allow the recipient to benefit from first time delivery success, as well as providing them with further control over their parcel delivery”.

Helen Hopkins of Pudding Bridge spoke of the service: ‘‘As a hire company we dispatch goods daily and the new ipostparcels tracking system is fantastic. We can track parcels in real time at the same time as our customers meaning that they don’t have to wait in all day for our deliveries. We can see when the product will arrive, what time it got there, and who signed for it. It’s a perfect addition to an already great service’’.

To use this service, customers are advised to visit the ipostparcels website, and simply enter their consignment or reference number.
