The UniCarriers Corporation board of directors voted unanimously to appoint James J. Radous III president of UCA. Radous will begin his role as president immediately.

January 22, 2016 – Following the resignation of Anthony Salgado as president of UniCarriers Americas Corporation (UCA), the UniCarriers Corporation board of directors voted unanimously to appoint James J. Radous III president of UCA. Radous will begin his role as president immediately, having responsibility for the operational and financial management of UCA and all of its subsidiaries and affiliates.

Radous joined UCA (formerly Nissan Forklift, North America) in 2009 as vice president of sales and marketing operations and has served as executive vice president of sales, Americas since 2013. He was the first to hold the role of executive vice president of sales at UniCarriers Americas, bringing consolidated and focused leadership to growing UCA’s business. In this role, Radous led revenue generation in the key areas of business development and aftermarket, growing UniCarriers Americas to a top-tier supplier of material handling equipment, increasing the company’s footprint in South America which included establishing UCA’s formal entity in Brazil (UCSA), leading aftermarket expansion across the Americas and orchestrating multiple mergers and acquisitions.

In 2014, Radous held the officer role of president of UCA’s retail operations, heading the company’s factory-owned dealership initiative. Radous led the company’s two factory-owned dealerships, New England Industrial Truck and Capital Equipment and Handling, through successful post-merger integrations.

“Jim has been a key part of the executive management team at UniCarriers Americas, with a proven record of growing the business. Over the past six years, he has been critical to the company’s success and has become a trusted resource to the UniCarriers Americas dealer network,” said Akira Shiki, president and COO of UniCarriers Corporation in Tokyo. “As president of the Americas, he will report directly to me and work closely with the senior management team in Japan. We commit our full support to aggressively grow the business throughout the Americas and are confident in Jim’s abilities to continue to lead UniCarriers Americas to success.”

“I look forward to working with our talented team of executives to further strengthen UCA’s position in this ever-changing marketplace, and to accelerate our growth to the next level,” said Radous. “UniCarriers is at the heart of the material handling business and I will continue to pursue every opportunity to build a high-performing organization for UniCarriers Americas, not just for our dealers and customers, but as a benchmark for the entire industry.”

Radous also serves on the board of directors for the Industrial Truck Association and is chairman of the association’s National Forklift Safety Day, held in Washington, D.C.

Prior to his arrival at UniCarriers Americas in 2009, Radous obtained global marketing and sales managerial experience from several positions including vice president, sales at Knaack LLC, a division of Emerson; vice president of global marketing at Klein Tools; director, sales and marketing at Wen Products; and sales and marketing manager at The Chamberlain Group. Radous earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Northern Illinois University and his master’s degree in business administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago.

After 15 years contributing in multiple leadership roles within the company, Salgado has made the decision to pursue a new opportunity outside of the company.

“I am truly grateful to have served with such a fine and talented team and dealer organization over these past several years,” said Salgado. “While this was a difficult decision, it was made easier by the fact that I am certain Jim Radous and the UCA leadership team will provide both continuity and acceleration in the company’s market driven strategies going forward. I wish the UCA team the very best.”
