Stockholm, October 2025 – Sweden’s largest flexible workspace provider Ioffice has commissioned research and development hub The Remote Lab to produce a series of reports exploring the coworking phenomenon in Sweden. The first edition offers the most comprehensive overview to date of the country’s coworking and serviced office market.

To strengthen the credibility of our industry, we need more solid, evidence-based knowledge,” says Homan Tehrani, Founder and CEO of Ioffice. “This first report gives us a unified view of the Swedish coworking landscape and highlights how the market is evolving in line with broader changes in the world of work.”

The report shows that there are now more than 600 flexible workspace providers across Sweden, present in every region and in two-thirds of the country’s municipalities. It positions Sweden’s coworking market within an international context, comparing its growth and maturity to similar developments across Europe.

“Many people still have an outdated perception of what coworking is,” says Tehrani. “Research now clearly shows that flexible workspace is a permanent and expanding part of modern working life.”

The collaboration with The Remote Lab, a research and development hub specialising in the future of work, aims to strengthen understanding of how coworking shapes both the office market and regional economic development in Sweden. Further thematic reports will be published in the future, each focusing on specific aspects of the coworking sector’s evolution and societal impact.

“Even in this first edition, it’s clear that the industry will continue to grow and that research links coworking to urban and rural development,” says Tehrani. “By supporting this work, Ioffice wants to contribute to a more informed dialogue about our sector, its drivers, and its long-term potential.”
