Daniel, who was one of six students invited to the WCIT’s 87thBusiness Lunch, is a voluntary Computer Science Student Representative, a valued member of RoboCup – the University’s robot football team - and a mentor to his fellow students. He was nominated by the University’s School of Computer Science for his academic excellence, mature professional conduct and generous community spirit.

On winning this award Daniel said, “I am very proud to have been asked to represent my university at such a wonderful luncheon. I had the pleasure of meeting so many accomplished people in the computing industry and it has inspired me to continue my success in the future.”

William Clocksin, Dean of the School of Computer Science said, “This is the first time that one of our Computer Science students has won a WCIT award and we are really proud of Daniel’s achievement as it is a testament to his dedication and excellence.”

Daniel joined the University as a BSc (Hons) Computer Science student but has subsequently transferred on the MEng Computer Science (Accelerated) degree program. He is currently on his placement at Visteon, an American automotive global supplier, in the position of Audio Software and Subsystems Engineer.
