Children’s Hospital/Pitt Research Team Identify Nuclear Protein That Could Play Important Role in Diseases Ranging from Asthma to Cancer
PITTSBURGH June 23 – A protein found in the nucleus of cells plays a key role in the regulation of the immune system and could provide a target for the development of new treatments for a number of conditions and diseases ranging from asthma to cancer, according to researchers at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine . The findings are available online today in the journal Science Translational Medicine . Researchers led by Yatin Vyas, M.D.
