ARLINGTON - The University of Texas at Arlington has set new records in annual philanthropic support, a reflection of the University’s renewed focus on private giving as a means of accelerating its progress toward becoming a major national research university. The University generated an unprecedented $15.2 million in gifts and pledges in the 2009-2010 fiscal year ending Aug. 31, up from $5.9 million the previous year. The University of Texas at Arlington has joined the City of Arlington and First Baptist Church-Arlington to formally launch the new College Park District, an area spanning more than 20 acres on campus, from UTA Boulevard to Mitchell Street.
