New website tracks UT Arlington energy savings
Want to know what’s going on with the 1,638 photovoltaic panels atop UT Arlington’s Park North and Park Central parking garages? A new public website has the answer. The site provides real-time data about the energy produced by the panels and graphics that explain the process. On Friday, for example, the panels had generated more than 464,000-kilowatt hours of electricity since they began operating on Sept. 27, 2011. That’s enough to power 2,659 60-watt light bulbs eight hours a day, for a year, according to the site. Software provider Deck Monitoring runs the site, with cooperation
