The welfare technology company Camanio Care (publ) are investing in research and development and will from now on be active in the standardization committee for robotics SIS (Swedish Standards Institute). The participation is part of the broad development scope driven by Camanio Care.

The work in the standardization committee is part of the broad efforts in R&D that Camanio Care is managing development within all three focus areas; Mealtime, Active Life and Digital Care. The company owns and develops their own portfolio of products within these areas, and robotics in particular is a natural part of the company’s origin. At the moment, there are several advances within the field of robotics towards Artificial Intelligence (AI) and, by connecting through IOT (Internet-of-Things), the products are communicating with Camanio Care’s global server platform.

-        For us it is obvious to be one of the driving forces in standardization of robotics for homecare users. Quality, user friendliness and safety are important areas when introducing smart solutions close to basic human needs and daily life, says Daniel Berlin, Chief Technology Officer at Camanio Care.

Within the large European research project MoveCare, Camanio Care participates as a technology partner and delivers the digital care platform Giraff for the sensors and applications of AI that eight universities jointly develop. Through this collaboration, Camanio Care has a unique opportunity to first mover advantage when commercializing these innovations and accompanying IP-rights. Read the report on the first Giraff implementation in Hörby, a Swedish municipality, published by the Swedish newspaper Expressen here.

-        As the CTO, most of my focus is to work with the agenda for our products and technical platforms. This form the foundation for our future potential and the opportunities that arise from growing with different services on our installed platforms, says Daniel Berlin.
