WHEN:            Dec. 13-22, 2011

WHERE:            Okinawa and Korea

WHY:            America’s sweethearts The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders will soon set out to deliver cheer and holiday tidings to troops and military families on what will be the troupe’s 73rd USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour. Set to divide, conquer and entertain the 12-member team will split up and visit 21 installations and put on 6 performances in 10 days.

“We all want to spend time with our family and loved ones for the holidays,” said Ally Taylor. “But for many of our men and women in uniform that’s not possible. That’s why we wanted to make sure we touched as many military families as possible. I’m honored to be a part of the annual USO tour and to deliver a touch of home and some DCC cheer to our troops and their families.”

The most traveled of USO tour veterans, the DCC set out on their first USO tour in 1979 and have lifted the spirits of countless men and women in uniform and their families. Among the countries they’ve visited are Afghanistan, Bahrain, Belgium, Cuba, Germany, Iceland, Iraq, Japan, South Korea, Kuwait and the United Kingdom, as well as numerous stateside visits. A staple in the football industry, the DCC are currently in their 6thseason of “Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team,” which airs on the Country Music Television network.

About the USO

The USO (United Service Organizations) lifts the spirits of America’s troops and their families millions of times each year at hundreds of places worldwide.  We provide a touch of home through centers at airports and military bases, top quality entertainment and innovative programs and services. We also provide critical support to those who need us most, including forward-deployed troops and their families, wounded warriors and their families and the families of the fallen.

The USO is a private, non-profit organization, not a government agency. We rely on the generosity of our volunteers and donors.  In addition to individual donors and corporate sponsors, the USO is supported by President’s Circle Partners: American Airlines and TriWest Healthcare Alliance and Worldwide Strategic Partners: AT&T Inc., BAE Systems, The Boeing Company, Clear Channel Communications, The Coca-Cola Company, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation and Procter & Gamble. We are also supported through the United Way and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC-11381).  To join us in this patriotic mission, and to learn more about the USO, please visit http://www.uso.org.
