USO Welcomes Alan Reyes as Senior Vice President of Operations

ARLINGTON, Va. – The USO has named Alan Reyes as Senior Vice President of Operations. He will provide strategic direction for the USO’s more than 160 locations worldwide. USO centers host nearly 8 million visitors annually, providing comfort and connectivity to lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families in the U.S., Pacific, Europe and South West Asia.

Alan joins the USO with more than 21 years experience in operations strategy and management, logistics planning and project management. He most recently served as the Senior Director of Operations at K12 Inc., the leading provider of online primary and secondary education. Additionally, he also implemented a Six Sigma training program at AOL and led management consulting projects for Fortune 500 and Department of Defense clients.

“Alan comes to the USO with a broad range of skills,” said USO President Sloan Gibson. “We couldn’t be more excited to have him join the USO family and provide his valuable insight as we look forward to another 70 years of serving troops and military families.”

Alan also serves his country as a reservist with the U.S. Navy, with more than 21 years of service. He is currently assigned as Commanding Officer, NR FLC Norfolk Det 206, leading reserve support for the Navy’s largest Fleet Logistics Center and has deployed twice to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

“I am excited and honored to join this cherished institution,” said Alan Reyes. “For the past 21 years I’ve dedicated myself to this great country and can continue to serve my brother and sisters in arms, it’s a dream come true.”

Alan earned a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Reyes is a native of Leesburg, Va., where he currently resides with his wife and two daughters.
