The precision planter Tempo is a major sales success for the agricultural machinery manufacturer Väderstad. Tempo has been manufactured since 2012 and since 2017 the machine holds the world record in precision drilling. At the Agricultural trade Fair Agritechnica 2019, Väderstad delivered its 5000th Tempo machine, a Tempo V12.

502,05 hectares of maize in one day. That is the world record in precision drilling, held by Väderstad’s Tempo. Buyer of the 5000th Tempo machine is the German farmer Stefan Kürbs. It will be his second Tempo machine, and the combination of speed and precision is the main reason why he chose to invest in yet another machine.

- The opportunities with the Tempo are great. We use it for many different crops, such as sugar beet, sunflower, maize, soya and rapeseed. For us, both the speed and precision that the machine delivers are important. With Tempo, we are able to drill between five and six hectares per hour. Thanks to the reliability of the machine, we have chosen to buy one more, exactly the same, says Stefan Kürbs.

In November, at the Agritechnica fair, the symbolic handover was held in Väderstad’s showcase. The machine will be delivered in March, just in time for the sugar beet seeding.

- Precision and speed are vital in order to pursue a professional and effective farm today. Thanks to the patented PowerShoot technology, our planter is very precise. Not only does this consider the distance between individual seeds, but also the depth at which each seed is placed. In addition, the speed is very high, up to 18 km/h, says Bo Stark, owner and Sales Manager Nordic, Väderstad.
