Valmet has signed a strategic value-added reseller (VAR) agreement for power and process industry automation with Globetech Pty Ltd based in Australia and Globetech Asia based in Vietnam. The agreement covers Australia, New Zealand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore and possibly other South East Asian countries later on.

"By having an experienced automation partner by our side, we will be able to better serve our customers in the power and process industries. Valmet's system reliability and upgradability are important factors when our customers make decisions about their investments," says Florentino Chicharo, CEO, Globetech Pty Ltd.

"This agreement is in line with our strategy to strengthen our global presence. We see high potential in expanding our power and process automation system business together with the help of Globetech's local presence," explains Kari S. Heikkilä, Director, Partner Business, Automation, Valmet.

Valmet's role in the partnership is to supply its Valmet DNA automation and information platform for process control, whereas Globetech is responsible for project execution and resources. Valmet DNA is already being used in thousands of power plants and industrial processes around the world.
