Valmet's seasonal donation goes for three humanitarian organizations
Valmet Corporation's press release on December 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. EET
Valmet gives its annual seasonal donation this year to three global humanitarian and conservation organizations: Save the Children, WWF and UN Women. Valmet will donate in total EUR 18,000 to these organizations.
"In the spirit of the coming holiday season, we wanted to continue our tradition to support selected global humanitarian and conservation organizations. As usual, our personnel around the world voted actively for the donation targets, and this year most of the votes went to Save the Children," says Anu Salonsaari-Posti, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Valmet.
Valmet's donation will be divided between the three organizations based on the voting result. The selected organizations work for global campaigns to improve children's rights, help conserve forests and enhance living conditions in refugee camps.
As part of its community programs, Valmet donated water filters to Keng Zhen Central primary school in Jiaxian, China earlier this year to ensure availability of fresh water for drinking and cooking. Valmet also made a donation through the Red Cross to support the rescue and rebuilding work after the Nepal earthquake.
