Valmet has supplied an information management system for Neste's newly acquired plant in Sluiskil, Netherlands. The plant is used for storage and pre-treatment of renewable raw materials for the company's renewable diesel refineries. The information management system will enable Neste to improve process and technology development as well as benefit from centralized remote monitoring and extensive reporting, all resulting in higher fleet performance and plant availability.
The order was included in Valmet's third quarter 2017 orders received. The system was delivered in November 2017.
Valmet has previously supplied information management systems to Neste's renewable diesel refineries in Rotterdam and Singapore.
"With Valmet's information management system, Valmet DNA Asset Monitoring, we will be able to remotely monitor production in our new plant according to an optimal logistic and operative control strategy. Its cyber security solutions ensure continuous data collection," says Wilfred Kram, Process Automation Engineer, Neste Netherlands B.V.
"The solution will be built on top of the plant's distributed control system to collect data from the process. Data is used for research, calculating and reporting as well as bottleneck removal and problem solving, thus preventing disturbances in production. The long-term data collected will be used for technology development and process optimization," says Janne Koivuniemi, Product Manager, Automation, Valmet.
