Valmet to deliver a recovery boiler upgrade to Fibre Excellence Provence mill in France

Valmet will deliver a comprehensive recovery boiler upgrade to Fibre Excellence Provence mill in Tarascon, Southern France. The upgrade will have a significant impact on the performance of the customer’s recovery boiler.
The order was included in Valmet's orders received of the first quarter 2023. The value of the order will not be disclosed.
The recovery boiler upgrade is necessary for the optimal performance of the mill’s new evaporation unit that will be started up by the end of 2023. The modernization will also support the future capacity increase of the mill.

Technical information about the delivery
Valmet’s delivery includes the design, manufacturing, installation, and start-up support for a modern secondary air system with related equipment and pressure parts, a primary air preheater, black liquor preheaters and related piping, as well as black liquor pumps and related piping.
About the customer
Fibre Excellence manages pulp production, biomass energy production and timber harvesting activities in Southern France. At its Provence mill located in Tarascon, Fibre Excellence produces around 250,000 tons of pulp per year for filter paper, hygiene and packaging products. Inaugurated in 1951, the mill has been continuously modernized to improve its performance and to meet the changing environmental regulation.
