Valmet to supply automation to a new waste-to-energy plant in Worcestershire, UK

Valmet will supply automation to the new EnviRecover waste-to-energy plant in Hartlebury, Worcestershire, UK. The delivery will take place in November 2015, and the system will be handed over to the customer in November 2016.

The order is included in Valmet's second quarter 2015 orders received. The value of the order will not be disclosed. Typically the order value of automation system deliveries ranges from below EUR one million to EUR three million.

Hitachi Zosen Inova AG (HZI) is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor of the EnviRecover Hartlebury plant. This is the ninth time that HZI has chosen Valmet's automation technology for its waste-to-energy plant projects. Earlier deliveries have been made to waste-to-energy plants in Zistersdorf, Austria; Bergen, Norway; Riverside, Newhaven, STV 4&5, Ferrybridge and Greatmoor, UK; and Vaasa, Finland.

Good earlier experience and proven technology count

Valmet's delivery includes a Valmet DNA automation system, an information management system and a safety system. In addition engineering, installation and commissioning are included in the delivery.

The greenfield EnviRecover waste-to-energy facility in Hartlebury, Worcestershire, UK, will be operated and controlled with Valmet's automation technology.

Information about the customer Hitachi Zosen Inova and the waste-to-energy plant in Worcestershire

Zurich-based Hitachi Zosen Inova AG (HZI) is a global leader in energy from waste, operating as part of the Hitachi Zosen Corporation Group. Formed from the former Von Roll Inova, HZI acts as an engineering, procurement and construction contractor delivering complete turnkey plants and system solutions for energy recovery from waste. The EnviRecover Hartlebury waste-to-energy plant is a single-line facility, with a thermal capacity of 68 megawatts (MW). It will process municipal solid waste and non-hazardous industrial waste with a nominal capacity of 200,000 tons of waste per year.. The facility will generate around 18 MW of electricity, enough to power 43,000 households. It will be operated by Mercia Waste Management under contract with Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire Council.
