Vanderbilt strengthens its team with senior level appointment of Peter Mueller

Vanderbilt International, a global leader in providing state-of-the-art security systems, has announced the appointment of Peter Mueller as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). As a consultant, Mueller was part of the Vanderbilt team that completed the successful acquisition of Security Products from Siemens in early 2015, and this permanent role will also see him become a member of the company’s executive committee.

Mueller’s impressive career includes over 30 years in business, where he gained an enviable track record as a management consultant for international blue chip companies including Deloitte, Arthur D Little and IBM. A graduate of the University of Münster, for the last seven years he has acted as Professor in MBA Programs at the Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, Adjunct Professor at Beijing Normal University, as well as being a Visiting Professor at universities throughout India.

Reporting directly to Joseph Grillo, Vanderbilt’s Managing Director, Mueller will facilitate a strong alignment with the organisation’s information technology (IT), business and management functions, in order to develop a lean and efficient service delivery.

Commenting on his new role, Mueller said, ‘Being part of the acquisition process gave me an excellent insight into Vanderbilt’s operation and the huge potential that the company has to expand its global presence. As CIO, I’m looking forward to identifying areas where we can utilise technology to make our overall operation more efficient and cost effective, and improve the service we offer our ever growing customer base. This will ensure that we maximise our competitive potential in what is a highly competitive market.’

Using his wide-ranging knowledge of the technology sector, he will achieve his objectives by overseeing the structure of Vanderbilt’s policies, standards and strategies, and help his team deliver and contribute locally within that framework. By developing a comprehensive technology strategy, Mueller will be able to identify priorities, objectives and targets regarding how the company delivers value and adapts to changing working practices such as remote working.

‘I’m delighted to welcome Peter to the senior management team at Vanderbilt,’ stated Joseph Grillo. ‘Having someone of his calibre on board is a massive coup for us and his extensive knowledge and experience will help us in our mission to expand our presence in the security industry, while providing a level of service that is agile, flexible and always meets our customers’ needs.’
