Vanderbilt wins prestigious design award for its SPC intruder detection system
Vanderbilt, a global leader in providing state-of-the-art security systems, is celebrating after its SPC Compact Keypad was recognised at this year’s iF Design Awards.
Each year, iF International Forum Design GmbH organises one of the world's most celebrated and valued design competitions: the iF Design Award. Recognized as a symbol of design excellence around the world, the iF Design Award welcomes over 5,000 submissions from 70 countries every year.
The SPC Compact Keypads use touchkeys instead of traditional mechanical keys and the key interface illuminates only when touched. With a depth of just 17.5mm, these keypads sit unobtrusively on any wall.
With support for EM and Mifare card technologies, plugin wireless module, audio annunciation, perimeter lighting and a large graphical interface, this keypad is truly a feature rich Compact Keypad.
The SPC Compact Keypads form part of Vanderbilt’s SPC intruder detection series, combining sophisticated protection against intruders with a cost-effective modular design and installation concept. SPC systems are scalable up to 512 zones, with 120 wireless zones.
The award comes on the back of last year’s award from Protector, where the SPC Compact Keypad also won in the “Hazard Detection Technology” category. Being awarded the iF Design Award this year confirms the growing importance of elegant design and innovation within the security market.
‘We are delighted to be a winner of the prestigious iF Design Awards this year, and proud that our dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology has been recognised in this way,’ commented Joe Grillo, Managing Director of Vanderbilt. ‘Vanderbilt has reinforced its position as a global leader in state-of-the-art security systems. We reinvest at least 10 per cent of our annual revenue into new research and development programmes each year, in order to further our growth and provide best-in-class solutions that offer tangible benefits to our customers and end users.’
The iF design award night took place on 26 February 2016 at BMW Welt in Munich, Germany
