Annual Report and Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2010

Today Vattenfall publishes its Annual Report and Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2010.

The Annual Report includes detailed information about Vattenfall's financial result and describes the Group's development in 2010. A comprehensive section is dedicated to Vattenfall’s new strategic direction, which was announced in September 2010. Furthermore, the Annual report includes a review of Vattenfall’s six energy sources; hydro power, nuclear power, coal power, natural gas, wind power and biomass.

Compared with the year-end report, which was published on 10 February 2011 the balance sheet has been subject to a marginal amendment on the liability side with a shift between figures for Deferred tax liabilities and Current tax liabilities. The net tax position of the Group has not changed. This amendment is an effect of that the Parent Company has made a correction, pertaining to hedge accounting on net investments in foreign operations. The income statement for 2009 and 2010 and the balance sheet per 31 December 2009 and 31 December 2010 respectively for the Parent Company have been restated accordingly, compared to what was published in Vattenfall’s 2010 year-end report. The amendment has no impact on the Group’s results, cash flow and debt position.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Report describes Vattenfall’s new strategic direction and Vattenfall’s six energy sources from a sustainability perspective. Since 2003, Vattenfall reports in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an international framework for sustainability reporting. Detailed information about the environmental, social and economic impacts of the company’s operations is accounted for.
