Deal closed about Berlin based company Bewag After final negotiations Friday in Berlin, the parties have reached an agreement on the future ownership of the Berlin based energy company Bewag AG. The agreement, which has been closed between Vattenfall, Mirant and HEW has been recognized by Berlin's political authorities. Thereby the preconditions are set for the creation of a so called fourth power on the German energy market. Due to this agreement the decree of the arbitration court will not be needed. The immediate task for Bewag, Vattenfall, Mirant, HEW and Veag/Laubag will now be to find a mutually acceptable solution where Mirant and Vattenfall have a partnership, with Vattenfall in a leading role.
